- Operate in line with internal environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain a strong understanding of current environmental legislation and ensure on-site compliance.
- Provide advice, support, and training to construction delivery teams on environmental compliance and best practices.
- Monitor site energy consumption and work towards performance improvements and carbon footprint reduction.
- Conduct regular site inspections, producing reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO50001, and relevant environmental permits and licenses.
- Oversee water pollution prevention, particularly silt management, including the collection of water samples.
- Contribute to the development of innovative environmental solutions, such as renewable energy integration for site equipment.
- Liaise with regulators, environmental specialists, and client representatives as required.
- Support the preparation of written bids for new projects and environmental awards.
- Track and report on environmental objectives and targets.
- Assist with audits and support accreditation processes.
- Monitor dust and noise levels on site.
- Oversee site ecology management practices.
- Contribute to the design and rollout of initiatives aimed at increasing environmental awareness and performance.
- Produce environmental activity reports and contribute to monthly project reporting.
- Investigate environmental incidents and near-misses.
- In-depth knowledge of current environmental legislation and industry best practices.
- Strong grasp of core environmental principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in report writing and legal compliance.
- Organised, self-driven, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence.
- Degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Recognised environmental qualification.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA, IOSH) - desirable.
- SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) certification.
- Valid CSCS card.
