Job Description:We are looking for an Assistant Designer who is trend focused, dynamic with the passion for design within menswear. You will have a proven skill set within menswear design across multi fabrications across shorts and casual trousers.About the role:
  • Research the latest trends relevant to various customer profiles, then communicate this information to your team and senior managers
  • Produce creative designs that tastefully represent and reflect the latest trends into the Next customer base.
  • Brief suppliers and continue to build great relationships
  • Work closely with the Designer & Buyer to support the whole design process from planning new ranges through to product selection.
About you:
  • Previous experience working within a UK brand or high street retailer would be desirable
  • Previous experience working on multi-product would be desirable but not essential
  • Great taste level and a real passion for the latest trends and how to translate these to your designs
  • Excellent knowledge of the whole design process, from start to finish
  • Great attention to detail and an adaptable and versatile handwriting, with the ability to design across a variety of brands and age ranges
  • Strong commercial awareness and a comprehensive understanding of the Next customer base.
  • Great knowledge of Menswear brands
  • Proven ability to create commercial collections
  • An adaptable handwriting/resilience to change. You'll thrive on working in a fast paced environment with a real passion and drive for product
  • A high level of experience and be proficient in creating designs and tech packs using Adobe creative suite-from initial trend concepts to final tech packs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Enthusiastic attitude and team player
