As a member of our Fire & Insulation R&D Laboratory, you will work within a team of Technical Assistants and help manage resources within the laboratory to provide an effective and efficient application service to support New Product development projects (NPI), business critical testing for key projects as well as helping customers and supporting claims scenarios. You will also help with value engineering and factory support projects.Job Responsibilities
- Successfully run plural spray trials to determine best spray parameters for our development products.
- Prioritise projects & allocate resources.
- Nurture a team Application Technical Assistants & oversee their work.
- Problem-solve any equipment issues & carrying out maintenance to ensure minimum down time.
- Ensure application work complies with technical standards while maintaining the highest degree of safety in a high-risk activity area.
- Collaborate with colleagues to manage throughput of projects through the laboratory.
- Provide advice & guidance to stakeholders as needed.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve performance.
- Extensive experience in a similar role.
- In-depth experience of plural spraying of 2 pack hydrocarbon fire protection materials (ideally Chartek or equivalent).
- In-depth knowledge of the plural spray equipment (Graco, WIWA etc).
- NVQ Level Certification, ILM Level 2 in Leadership & Team Skills or equivalent
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Committed to a collaborative working environment where supporting colleagues is key.
- NACE 2 OR ICORR Level 2
- Effective at summarising findings, report writing & customer presentation.
