These people are integral to the smooth running of the business; ensuring everyone is paid on time, that materials are sourced and arrive promptly, that we meet our legal obligations and that our health, safety, and security is safeguarded.About the Procurement Team and the RoleThe Procurement team support departments in delivering innovative, externally supported solutions and ensuring we make commercially astute decisions across our supply eco-system. This role sits within the Packaging category, who manage all procurement relating to our Packaging sourcing across all areas of THG from our direct packaging our products are produced into through to the boxes our customer orders are sent out in.This role reports into the Head of Packaging Procurement, part of the Group Procurement team. Scope of the role covers full group.This role is suited to someone with previous experience in buying Packaging but we will consider candidates with a keen interest in packaging and procurement. The ideal candidate will be capable of working confidently with senior business leaders to ensure THG invest in the most suitable technology.As a Buyer - Packaging you will be responsible for:
  • Negotiating contractual clauses ensuring risk is appropriately agreed
  • Business partnership with many internal functions including Product Development, finance, supply chain and technical teams
  • Executing strategic sourcing, choosing the correct channels and vendors
  • Ability to communicate contractual risk and opportunity to stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to structurally improve cost and productivity through supplier management
  • Focus on supply chain management to ensure we have the right packaging, at the right time and in the right place
  • Completing tenders and subsequent commercial analysis to report back to senior management on savings delivered / impact to the business

  • Experience in buying and packaging experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset
  • High level of commercial acumen
