Weekly Rate: £460 - £500
Contract: Long-term to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Start Date: September 2025Are you passionate about supporting young learners with additional needs? Do you have experience working with children in Early Years, particularly those with ASD and communication challenges?About the RoleWe're seeking a caring and proactive Reception Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism (ASD) who is non-verbal. You will play a key role in supporting their social, emotional, and academic development, using a range of strategies to encourage engagement and communication.This role is ideal for someone who is patient, creative, and committed to making a difference in a child's early education journey.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised 1:1 support for a Reception pupil with ASD.
  • Use visual timetables, PECS or Makaton (if experienced) to aid communication.
  • Implement structured play and sensory activities to support learning.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored strategies.
  • Promote a nurturing, inclusive environment for all pupils.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism (preferred).
  • Knowledge of non-verbal communication strategies (PECS, Makaton desirable).
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
