To be considered for the Production Operative role all candidates must be flexible within reason, reliable, and available for an immediate start where required. Candidates must have a basic to good level of English speaking, reading, and writing.As a Production Operative, you must be flexible in your assignment as roles may vary from time to time which would include mixing products, packing, dispatch, boxing, and palletising. A certain level of dexterity is required and will be assessed where needed.Our client is a leading manufacturer of sweet and cereal-based products with a broad range of technological capabilities, primarily serving the end markets of bakery, cereal, confectionery, dairy and ice cream.This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client who is a growing company with many opportunities in a purpose-built site based in Bretton, Peterborough. Shifts available 06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00 rotating shift. The site operates 24/7 so work may include occasional weekend work.Salary Breakdown: 12 Hours shift pattern
- Base rate £11.44 per hour (Probationary period 12 weeks)
- Shift allowance (2 shift rotating) £2.06 = £13.50 per hour
- Tx½ over 40 hours £17.16 per hour
- Shift allowance only paid on base hours only
- Base rate £12.45 per hour
- Shift allowance (2 shift rotating) £2.24 = £14.69 per hour
- Tx½ over 40 hours £18.68 per hour
- Shift allowance only paid on base hours only
- Preparing and mixing of product following SOP’s
- Lifting product ingredients ready for mixing in the region of 25kg
- Packing from 5kg-20kg containers, ensuring labels are applied correctly
- Follow CCP checks
- Use internal software SAP
- General upkeep of your area including cleaning product lines between changes
- Be actively aware and understand the Health and Safety
- Be actively aware and understand food safety relevant to the role
- Working towards daily productivity targets
- Reporting feedback on production issues
- Meeting all KPI’s in place
- Material checks following company SOP’s
- Will be hot during the summer months
- Expect machine noise & vibrations (PPE provided)
- Potentially dusty environment
- Safety boots are required to be worn
- All other PPE required will be provided as required
- Standing or walking for long periods (12 hour shifts)
- Lifting, bending, reaching above the head, crouching and/or stretching
- Pushing and pulling up to 25kg in weight / Lifting and moving products up to 25kg
- Manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
- Computer literacy - able to work scanners and complete simple tasks on a PC
- Time management
- Experience working in a production environment preferred but not essential
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually where required
- Accuracy and attention to detail to include numeracy
