Salary: £45,586 – £55,974 per annumAbout the RoleWest Berkshire Council is seeking a skilled and innovative Educational Psychologist to join our dedicated team supporting children and young people across the region. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your psychological expertise to help improve educational outcomes, emotional well-being, and inclusion in schools and wider communities.You will work collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals in a dynamic environment, contributing to both statutory and preventative work.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake psychological assessments and provide expert advice as part of Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments in line with the SEND Code of Practice 2015.Deliver consultation and intervention services to schools, families, and children, with a focus on early intervention, capacity-building, and problem-solving.Provide training and development sessions to education staff and other professionals on areas such as autism, mental health, and inclusive practices.Contribute to strategic initiatives and project work, including critical incident response and development of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) strategies.Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including CAMHS, SEN teams, and social care to ensure integrated service delivery.Apply evidence-based practice and support service development through action research, evaluation, and quality assurance.Essential CriteriaHonours degree in Psychology (eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society).Postgraduate qualification (Doctorate or Master’s) in Educational Psychology.Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Educational Psychologist.Proven experience working with children and young people in educational settings.
