  • Experience working with young people, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

  • Classroom Management: The ability to establish and maintain a purposeful and orderly learning environment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and non-verbal skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
  • Adaptability: The flexibility to handle different subjects, year groups, and unexpected situations with ease.
  • Patience and Empathy: A calm and understanding demeanour when dealing with students' questions and challenges.
  • Problem-Solving: The capacity to quickly and effectively address any issues that arise in the classroom.
  • Time Management: Efficiently supervising the lesson plan and ensuring students remain on task.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervising pre-prepared work provided by the absent teacher.
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils in line with the school's behaviour policy.
  • Responding to questions from pupils about the lesson's process and procedures.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Collecting completed work at the end of the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
  • Taking attendance and completing administrative tasks as required.
  • Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to school policies.
  • Providing feedback to the teacher on the conduct of the lesson and any issues that arose.
  • Supporting the use of ICT within the lessons as appropriate.
  • Encouraging a positive and productive atmosphere in the classroom.
