- Conduct regular audits of the Police National Computer (PNC Managers), Police National Database, National ANPR Service and Internet Intelligence and Investigation ensuring users are complying with system rules, utilising the systems lawfully and proportionately and acting as an independent provision for the Force in relation to monitoring usage.
- Carry out any other audit work as directed by the Systems Audit Team Leader to ensure that BTP complies with BTP policies, PNC usage guidance, National PND Audit Standards, National Standards for Compliance and Audit of Law Enforcement ANPR (September 2020) and the Surveillance Code of Practice.
- Produce high quality written reports highlighting audit findings and recommendations for action required.
- Apply knowledge of the systems and guidance to protect the integrity of the use of systems, reporting any
- Educated to A-Level and/or possess equivalent experience.
- Experience of internal / external compliance auditing of systems and usage.
- Experience of exercising judgement and interpreting complex national guidance and legislation (such as Computer Misuse Act 1990, Data Protection Act, National PND Audit Standards, National Standards for Compliance and Audit of Law Enforcement ANPR (September 2020) and the Surveillance Code of Practice).
- Experience of making effective, risk-based decisions and documenting the rationale, specifically in relation to improper use of police systems, ensuring compliance with Computer Misuse Act 1990 and other specific system guidance.
- Must be able to hold or attain a recognised Audit Qualification (such as PND NSS Auditor course)
- Trained in the use of police systems, specifically PNC and PND
- Experience in working with Police information and computer systems.
- Salary of £32,757.33 per annum
