- Plan and execute audits and assessments according to the internal audit schedule, completing all required documentation in compliance with the QMS.
- Support investigations into quality issues, performing thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
- Manage and monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain QA compliance metrics and ensure associated targets are achieved and sustained.
- Support external audits, regulatory inspections, and customer visits, ensuring full compliance and timely responses to findings.
- Perform regular shop floor audits, document findings, and ensure issues are escalated and resolved appropriately.
- Assist in the coordination of timely responses and resolution of quality issues across departments.
- Contribute to the development of Quality Plans, First Article Inspections (FAI), and support customer verification activities.
- Facilitate engineering change requests, product concessions, and deviations in accordance with internal procedures.
- Participate in engineering design reviews and audit design projects to ensure QMS compliance.
- Engage in contract reviews and support new business proposal activities.
- Oversee the Operators Approval Process, including issuing approval stamps and defining scopes.
- Ensure departmental objectives align with overall business goals and the job holder's personal objectives.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and processes at all times.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through support of lean activities, process mapping, and other improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the maintenance and renewal of company approvals and certifications such as EASA/CAA, FAR, ISO, and AS standards.
- Proven experience in a Quality or Business Improvement role.
- Hands-on experience working within a certified Quality Management System.
- Proficient in conducting internal audits and supporting third-party audits.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and working within a supply chain environment.
- Experience in communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships across departments.
- Organised and efficient with excellent time management skills.
- Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Capable of making informed decisions and managing workloads effectively.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience working within an aerospace or defence organisation.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, EASA Part 21, and Part 145.
- Knowledge of Foreign Object Debris (FOD), counterfeit avoidance, and airworthiness topics.
- Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) using AS9102, or PPAP processes.
- Skilled in process measurement and monitoring tools (e.g., SPC, KPIs).
- Familiarity with QMS or process mapping software tools.
- Certified Quality Auditor or similar qualification.
- Engineering-related educational background.
- Educated to A-Level standard (Grade C or above), ideally degree-qualified.
