The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing credit applications across private individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients, ensuring decisions align with internal credit policies and risk tolerance.Key Responsibilities
- Manually underwrite credit proposals in line with company policy and service level targets.
- Analyse financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow) to assess repayment capacity.
- Make informed lending decisions and document rationale clearly.
- Use internal systems to manage work queues and support auto-acceptance processes.
- Respond to dealer and account manager queries efficiently.
- Escalate proposals exceeding approval limits to senior credit personnel.
- Participate in scorecard testing and tuning.
- Maintain compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to fraud prevention and monthly risk reviews.
- Experience in consumer credit underwriting or credit analysis within financial services.
- Strong understanding of credit practices and financial risk assessment.
- Proficient in interpreting CRA and HPI reports.
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, COUNTIF, AVERAGE, and SUM.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work under pressure and manage own workload effectively.
- Experience in automotive or consumer finance is preferred but not essential.
