With a strong emphasis on teamwork, wellbeing, and professional development, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Practice Nurse — or a nurse looking to develop their career in general practice — to become an integral part of a welcoming and progressive team.About the Role:The successful candidate will work alongside a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, Healthcare Assistants, and administrative colleagues. The role will involve delivering a wide range of high-quality nursing services, including chronic disease management, health promotion, treatment room duties, and preventative care initiatives.The position is available on a part-time basis (3 days per week) or full-time, with flexibility to accommodate the right candidate.Key Responsibilities:
  • Management of long-term conditions such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, and hypertension
  • Cervical cytology (smear tests)
  • Childhood and adult immunisations and vaccinations
  • Wound care and dressings
  • Health promotion and lifestyle advice
  • Contraceptive advice and services (desirable but not essential)
  • Supporting the practice in meeting QOF and other quality targets
  • Participation in clinical meetings and practice development initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse in a primary care setting (however, training and support can be provided for the right candidate)
  • Current NMC registration
  • Strong clinical skills and a patient-centred approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • A flexible, proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high standards of care
  • Experience in chronic disease management, health promotion, and general treatment room duties (desirable)
  • A desire for continuous professional development
