Would you like a role that offers both a meaningful impact and valuable professional experience?We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Tower Hamlets that is looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the team from September.This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting students aged 11-16, including those with special educational needs, while working alongside dedicated teachers and support staff. It’s an ideal role if you’re considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, youth work or pastoral support.Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing tailored classroom support to individual students and small groups.
  • Assisting pupils to access learning across a range of subjects, using creative and practical strategies.
  • Supporting students with additional needs, including helping to implement education and behaviour plans.
  • Encouraging students’ independence, social skills and confidence.
  • Supporting teachers with classroom activities, lesson preparation and supervision during breaks or school trips.
What we’re looking for:
  • A recent graduate, ideally in education, psychology, social sciences or a related field.
  • A patient, empathetic and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous experience supporting young people in any setting (formal or informal) is welcomed but not essential.
