This role is ideal for someone who can maintain a positive learning environment while ensuring continuity of teaching when the class teacher is absent.As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes, delivering pre-prepared lesson plans, and supporting pupils to remain engaged and focused. You will help maintain discipline, provide learning support, and ensure the smooth running of the classroom in line with school policies.Main Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor (CS):
- Supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain on task.
- Maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Support pupils with their learning and behaviour as needed.
- Assist with administrative and classroom tasks.
- Monitor and report on student engagement and progress.
- Encourage positive behaviour and adherence to school rules.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to address any classroom issues.
- Support pupils with individual learning requirements.
- Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and transitions.
- Experience working in UK schools or similar educational settings.
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable).
- A degree in Education, psychology or a similar field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Proactive, organised, and reliable approach.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in education (desirable).
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
