An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and qualified pharmacist to join the medicine team at NHS Tayside, based in Ninewells Hospital. Joining other experienced clinical pharmacists and technicians, you will be supported to deliver highly specialised pharmaceutical care to the population of Tayside.Bringing the pharmacists' unique expertise and skill set, the postholder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to optimise clinical outcomes and minimise the risk of harm from medicines, to provide care that is tailored to the needs of individuals. You will work at a senior level across acute in-patient wards, including level 1 and level 2 care settings, to review high-priority patients. There is the opportunity to develop pharmacist-led clinics or integrate to MDT out-patient pathways within a speciality. The post will support and lead at speciality level, NHS Tayside-wide medicine governance activities through integration across care boundaries and as part of National collaborations. They will also take an active role in the training and development of colleagues, including junior staff and students. There are excellent links with Dundee University, renowned for the development of ground-breaking evidence-based medicine.You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have previous experience of working within a clinical environment. Completion of a post-graduate diploma or demonstration of equivalent competence is essential. You must possess a prescribing qualification or be prepared to work towards one. Evidence of multi-disciplinary teamwork and well-developed communication and leadership skills would be advantageous.The successful candidate will work to a job plan aligned with the advanced practice framework and will be supported with protected time and opportunities to achieve accreditation at advanced level practice.
