We are recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join our new specialist Complex Wound Service. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about patient care to develop skills in wound management. You will work alongside experienced nurses and GPAs, providing essential support in delivering high-quality wound care services across North Shropshire.Main duties of the job
Assist qualified staff with wound dressing procedures
Prepare clinical rooms and equipment for wound clinics
Support patients during wound care procedures
Help position patients comfortably for treatment
Perform basic observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) as required
Maintain infection control standards at all times
Clean and prepare wound care equipment between patients
Assist with simple dressing changes under supervision
Greet patients warmly and help them feel at ease
Assist patients with mobility, including wheelchair transfers
Ensure patient dignity and privacy during procedures
Provide comfort and reassurance during treatments
Report any patient concerns to qualified staff immediately
Help patients understand basic wound care instructions

Maintain cleanliness of clinical areas to infection control standards
Launder clinical items as required
Report equipment faults or maintenance needs
Ensure health and safety standards are maintained
