- Deliver all aspects expected of a QHI in the training of AH-64E aircrew, including both ground and air training.
- Contribute to the development of aircrew instructional philosophy, evaluation criteria and approach for standardising training materials.
- Establish qualification training standards and validation plans.
- Participate in ground and flight test activities in support of maintenance programs.
- Performing the Instructional duties as aircraft captain across the AH-64E training pipeline.
- Where qualified, assisting with the training of instructors on the AH-64E.
- Where qualified, and if selected, fulfil the duties of Sqn Exec positions of responsibility.
- Assisting with ensuring technical accuracy, completeness and quality of training products.
- Providing consultation to the Training business unit on aircraft technical issues, technology and best training solutions.
- Interfacing with other key stakeholders around the business to provide aircraft technical Subject Matter Expertise and to recommend solutions.
- Plans and conducts delivery, ferry, support test flights and functional check flights as aircraft captain and/or co-pilot.
- Identify risks, issues and opportunities and support the development of mitigation plans.
- As requested, providing Aircrew technical Subject Matter Expertise to the Courseware Design and Development team.
- Support the further development and maintenance of safety process.
- Hold a CQT on the AH-64E
- UK Central Flying School Qualified Helicopter Instructor (Minimum B1 category) with relevant experience on the Apache AH-64E.
- Be fully aware of general aviation principles and have detailed experience of flying in the UK.
- Must have previously been awarded a military pilot’s flying brevet from a NATO country.
- Must be able to pass a UK military aviation medical, preferably without limitations.
- Able to identify when safety within the flying environment may be compromised and can be relied upon to act decisively to improve aviation safety.
- The role will have significant UK MoD and wider Boeing interface and therefore a person who is diplomatic whilst being strong minded is required.
- Detailed technical knowledge of the Apache helicopter.
- Experience delivering Apache Conversion To Role (CTR) training would be highly desirable.
- Additional instructional qualifications of IRE, or within electronic warfare or weapons would be beneficial.
- Proven attention to detail and meticulousness in ensuring the correct standard or pass thresholds are achieved.
