Working hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Teaching: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM; Planning & Marking: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM)About the school:
A small, independent SEMH specialist school in Southwark, The Cavendish School offers personalised learning for pupils aged 11-16. All students have an EHCP, and class sizes are capped at 7, with Learning Support Assistants in every classroom. The school fosters a nurturing, structured environment where learners build confidence and develop academic and life skills.We’re looking for a dedicated candidate to:
- Design and implement a comprehensive ICT curriculum tailored to SEMH learners
- Deliver engaging and practical lessons that build students’ digital literacy and qualifications
- Work closely with support staff to differentiate for individual needs
- Plan and prepare lessons and resources during dedicated afternoon hours
- Take part in the pastoral life of the school and contribute to positive behaviour strategies
The ideal candidate would have:
- QTS (NQTs with prior experience welcome; ECTs not accepted)
- A background or qualification in ICT or Computing
- Experience working with SEMH or SEN pupils (desirable)
- Excellent behaviour management and creative teaching approaches
- A proactive, enthusiastic attitude and a visible passion for teaching
- Two recent references and an Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service
- Prepared lesson plan and resources for a virtual interview (date TBC)
