
Senior Design Engineer

- Lead a multidisciplinary design team in delivering high-performance heat exchanger systems
- Acting as a technical pillar beneath the Engineering Manager you’ll champion design integrity, manufacturability and compliance across the product life cycle
- Drive collaboration, mentor engineers and shape design workflows that impact performance on the shop floor and beyond
- Design pressure vessels and heat exchangers to ASME, PED, and TEMA standards
- Create and review 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and BOMs
- Support manufacturing with design-for-fabrication principles and troubleshooting
- Conduct mechanical calculations and support with FEA simulations
- Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory codes
- Maintain detailed design standards for the build and construction of all product types
- Implement detailed design reviews as required with relevant team members to ensure a smooth transition from design stage to manufacturing
- Design for manufacturability, considering welding sequences, tolerances, and accessibility during manufacture
- Collaborate with QA/QC teams to define inspection points and NDT requirements as per design codes
- Assist the Applications team with any R&D activities as deemed necessary
- Aid in the development of Product Data Management system (e.g. PDM Professional)
- Ensure proper revision control and document lifecycle management within PDM
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to streamline design release process
- Integrate PDM with ERP system for seamless BOM and part number management
- Provide technical input during client meetings, audits, and design reviews.
- Support procurement by reviewing vendor specifications and evaluating mechanical components
- Liaise with Manufacturing and Quality to resolve shop-floor issues
- Aid in the development in Design Engineers and Graduate Engineers
- Participate in lessons-learnt reviews and implement feedback into future projects
- Identify opportunities to improve design workflows, reduce cost, or enhance manufacturability
- Experienced with Solidworks, Solid Edge, EPDM, Epicor and Microsoft Office
- Competent with 3D CAD models
- Familiar with ASME, PED and TEMA standards
- Previously lead and managed teams before
