Building on this success, we are substantially expanding our early development capabilities and are hiring new position in our Early Development group - Global Project Manager.As a Global Project Manager you will be integral to the Early Development projects, working closely with the project leads to deliver upcoming projects to approved timelines and budgets, from Development Candidate (DC) to Proof of Concept in clinical stage.Please note this is a UK remote-first/hybrid role where occasional travel may be required to our offices in Oxford (UK) or Vienna (AT) (approximately 1-2 times per quarter), with flexibility to work from home the remaining time. We are a flexible working organisation and we're willing to consider other options which would provide similar contact time with the team.You will have the opportunity to:
  • Be part of the Project Team and operationally manage Exscientia's current and upcoming Early Development projects by monitoring and controlling project timelines budget and resources using PPM tools and taking responsibility for reporting accuracy
  • Work in a matrix environment with the project lead and the project team and sub teams (as needed) to facilitate the different teams and subject matter experts to deliver the drug development programs
  • Support Project Team/Project Lead through coordination of meetings, agenda preparation, writing of minutes and manage timelines for the project
  • Manage overall project budget and coordinate/ budgets and resources from functional project managers for implementation in finance system and planning systems
  • Manage contractual documents as needed to support the project deliverables
  • Identify and raise potential opportunities for operational efficiency
  • Pro-actively work with the project team on risk management strategies
  • Lead/coordinate the preparation and review of the Investigator Brochures
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of Early Dev Target Product Profiles (TPP)
  • Work with members of Project Teams to effectively manage external partners (e.g. non clinical CROs) and internal resources and collaborate closely with the Clinical Project Managers as needed
  • Collaborate with the Discovery project managers for seamless transition to development stage
  • Coordinate project governance interactions
Requirements:Essential skills:
  • Proven experience with project management in biopharma drug development environment
  • Good understanding of early development pre-clinical activities, CMC, clinical and regulatory for small molecule, preferably in oncology
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Energy to facilitate teamwork in a remote /hybrid working environment
  • Detail oriented, professional and willing to work to deadlines in a fast-changing environment
  • A proactive project manager who can work in an agile environment to build results
  • Experience of engaging both internal and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences or healthcare related area
  • 8-10 years + prior experience within a Research and Development environment (pharmaceutical) with at least 5 years project management
  • Experience in coordination/management of multiple CROs, vendors and consultants
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the project team, cross-functional team members and external partners using collaborative negotiation skills
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of planning software
  • Direct experience of budgeting and forecasting activities for drug development projects
