Join our dedicated team as a Pastoral Worker SEMH and support boys aged 7-16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a residential setting in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.As a Pastoral Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for our students. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Building positive relationships with the boys and serving as a trusted mentor and role model
  • Implementing individualised care plans and behaviour management strategies
  • Facilitating engaging activities and workshops to promote personal growth and development
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for each student
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures
To ensure suitability and consistency for our pastoral team, this role includes a 4-week period as a SEN Teaching Assistant. During this time, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a classroom setting and familiarise yourself with our unique approach to supporting students with SEMH needs.We are seeking candidates who possess:
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and making a difference in their lives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable)
In return for your dedication and hard work, we offer a competitive salary of £14 - £18 per hour for temporary positions, with the potential for a permanent role offering £22,547-£24,458 per annum plus a £1,344 sleep-in allowance.
