We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical First Assistant to join our surgical team. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with surgeons and other medical professionals to ensure the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Your expertise will be essential in providing high-quality patient care and assisting in various surgical tasks, contributing to positive patient outcomes.Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Ensure a sterile environment is maintained throughout the surgery.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including data entry of patient information.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of surgical procedures to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Provide support in upselling additional services or products related to patient care when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of surgical procedures and patient interactions.
  • Utilise bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly in Spanish and English, to communicate with diverse patient populations.
Experience
  • Previous experience as a Surgical First Assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, with an emphasis on both verbal and written proficiency in English; bilingual candidates are highly valued.
  • Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with electronic health record systems is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of independent decision-making when required.
