
Assistant Ecologist

- Assist in conducting a wide range of ecological surveys in an ever developing team, including surveys for bats, birds, reptiles, great crested newts, dormice, badgers, and other protected species
- Support in the production of preliminary ecological appraisal and biodiversity net gain assessments
- Help compile and write survey reports
- Assist in carrying out fieldwork, ensuring accurate data collection and maintenance of detailed field notes
- Participate in 'out-of-hours' surveys, including ecological watching briefs
- Assist senior team members with more complex projects
- Ensure accurate and well-organised data records are maintained
- Take responsibility for some project management tasks under the guidance of senior consultants, ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard
- Assist in related environmental works such as soil and groundwater monitoring
- To contribute effectively to projects, proposals and other allocated business operations within your scope of knowledge and competence
- To provide day to day input and support to enable the business to meet operational performance and financial targets
- To continue to develop your own capabilities to enable the ongoing success and growth of the business
- Undertaking all duties with minimal supervision, on time and to a suitable level of quality and safety
- Planning and managing your work to ensure effective delivery of projects
- Ensuring that all quality and financial systems are complied with and that all safety and survey related equipment in your area of work is operational serviced / calibrated as necessary
