- Analyse tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and schedules to understand project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical, civil, and infrastructure projects across commercial and industrial sectors.
- Liaise with internal engineering, procurement, and delivery teams to gather cost inputs and technical information.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support bid submissions with well-structured pricing documents, risk assessments, and value-engineered options.
- Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
- Monitor cost trends, market rates, and competitor pricing strategies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools, databases, and best practices.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3-7 years of experience in estimating for infrastructure, electrical contracting, or EPC projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC, JCT, and other UK contract frameworks.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Good commercial acumen with the ability to spot risk and opportunity in tenders.
- Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to pricing.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Flexible to travel across the UK as needed for site assessments or meetings.
- Experience in estimating HV/LV electrical systems, substations, cabling, or utility diversions.
- Familiarity with public procurement portals and government frameworks.
- Knowledge of value engineering and lifecycle costing in infrastructure environments.
