- Support and manage project team members, including providing technical support.
- Assist with project management tasks, including managing scope, budget, and schedules.
- Prepare fee proposals and contribute to tenders by delivering presentations and supporting business development efforts.
- Prepare and check technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and risk assessments.
- Determine a project’s scope of works, budgets and programme.
- Ensure compliance with relevant design standards and regulations throughout project execution.

- Lead design reviews and coordinate between design disciplines to ensure project success.
- Conduct site inspections, examinations, and scoping visits, liaising with clients directly.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, codes of practice, and current design methods.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non-technical.
- Lead and implement innovative engineering solutions to overcome complex design and construction challenges.
- Review and ensure that all engineering deliverables, including designs, reports, and calculations, meet high-quality standards and are consistent with client requirements.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, ideally within the Rail sector or on large infrastructure projects.
- Ideally working towards chartership
- CRE(D) experience is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in delivering projects on time and within budget, with exposure to financial management in engineering projects.
- Strong design experience in a variety of civil engineering projects and structures within the Rail sector.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary design coordination and integration.
- Familiarity with Eurocodes, Network Rail, Railway Group, and British Standards.
- Knowledge of the Network Rail engineering assurance process and procedures.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer (2D/3D frame), S-frame 3D, Robot, SuperStress, MIDAS, LUSAS etc.
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations and the ability to lead design coordination efforts across disciplines.
- Effective client-facing communication skills and the ability to deliver technical presentations.
- Proficiency in MS Office is essential.
