- A willingness to learn skills in observation and tracking children’s development through Learning Journals.
- Learn good knowledge and understanding of current documents & resources used and how to put the document into practise.
- The ability to work within a team, maintaining positive relationships and developing productive teamwork.
- Listen to advice/constructive criticism from peers/management and act upon it.
- An awareness of Health and Safety within the nursery and ability to report any hazards for the purpose of risk assessments
- Be supportive and diplomatic in your approach towards parents and children.
- To have and show commitment to Little Stars Nurseries policies and Procedures
- To attend occasional staff meetings outside of working hours (time for this will be compensated)
- A willingness to continue with training to aid both the nursery and your own personal development
- To ensure the wellbeing of all children and their development by providing stimulating, rich learning experiences
- To work as part of a Team alongside your colleagues
- Possess a HNC or SVQ III in Childcare and Education or equivalent. You must be registered or gain your registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- Knowledge and understanding of:
- The individual development needs of young children
- The central role of parents / carers in the lives of young children and respect this role.
- Local and National guidelines, Curriculum, childcare provision and procedures.
