Your Role as an SEN HLTA:
  • Deliver targeted academic and behavioural interventions, 1:1 and in small groups
  • Lead and support learning activities in collaboration with teaching staff and therapists
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education and behaviour plans
  • Foster emotional regulation, independence, and positive engagement in learning
What We're Looking For:
  • HLTA Status (Level 4 or equivalent qualification)
  • Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in specialist settings
  • A calm, reflective, and proactive approach to behaviour and communication support
  • A genuine interest in professional development and SEN best practice
As a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant you'll work closely with a team of clinicians including Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists, gaining insight and experience in a therapeutic, education and training environment.Alternatively, you may wish to continue along a school-based path, developing into education and training roles such as:
  • SEN Teacher (via QTS/QTLS pathways)
  • Pastoral Lead or Inclusion Manager
  • SEND Coordinator (SENCO)
  • Further study in Education Leadership, Trauma-Informed Practice, or Specialist SEND Support
  • Ongoing CPD, coaching, and internal training are built into your role to ensure you're constantly growing, supported, and progressing.
