We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled, and experienced Senior Science Technician to lead and support the practical and technical requirements of our dynamic and forward-thinking Science Department.About the Role:As Senior Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning by ensuring that science laboratories are well-prepared, safe, and effectively resourced. You will oversee a small team of technicians and work closely with teaching staff to support practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.Key Responsibilities:Organising, preparing, and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessonsEnsuring laboratories and prep rooms are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and safetyManaging stock control, ordering resources, and maintaining equipmentEnsuring compliance with health and safety standards, including COSHH regulationsSupporting and supervising a team of science techniciansAssisting in the development of practical resources and demonstrationsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:Previous experience as a science technician, ideally within a school environmentStrong subject knowledge across all science disciplinesA good understanding of relevant health and safety proceduresExcellent organisation, time management, and teamwork skillsA proactive approach and the ability to work independentlyRelevant qualifications (e.g. science-related degree, NVQ Level 3 in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities or equivalent)Why Join Us?We are a high-achieving, inclusive and values-driven Church of England secondary school.
