Are you a passionate and resilient Science Teacher looking to make a real difference? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to join our alternative provision setting, supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism and related behavioural challenges.About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to teach Science in a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment that values relationship-based practice and individualised support. Working with a small group of students, you will deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence in Science, while supporting pupils' personal and emotional development.Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a broad and balanced Science curriculum tailored to individual learning needs
- Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with students to support their SEMH and behavioural needs
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches accordingly
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred - but we welcome applications from unqualified teachers with relevant experience
- Experience or strong interest in working with SEMH, autism and/or behavioural needs
- Strong classroom management skills and a trauma-informed approach
- Passion for Science and creative, flexible teaching methods
