We are currently recruiting for a Toolmaker Bench Hand to join our precision engineering team in Birmingham. This is a temporary to permanent position, offering a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to become a long-term part of our growing business. The role involves working to extremely tight tolerances to produce high-precision components.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture and assemble precision components to exact specifications.
  • Work from engineering drawings to produce high-quality tools and parts.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and machinery to carry out bench work.
  • Inspect and measure components to ensure compliance with strict tolerances.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve technical challenges and improve processes.
Working Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:15 (½ hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
  • Includes a 15-minute paid tea break daily
  • Total: 38 hours per week
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a toolmaker or bench hand in a precision engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Skilled in using measuring instruments and working to tight tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
