Job Title: Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher – French and/or Spanish
Location: Waltham Forest
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: September 2025Inspire global thinking and linguistic confidence in a diverse East London school.A well-established and inclusive secondary school in Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated MFL Teacher to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term position ideal for a teacher who can deliver high-quality lessons in French and/or Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school welcomes applicants with a single or dual-language specialism and is particularly keen to recruit a teacher who values cultural education alongside academic progress.The school has a strong languages department and actively promotes modern languages as a gateway to opportunity, encouraging pupils to develop both communication skills and cultural awareness.Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in French and/or Spanish to students in KS3–KS4
  • Prepare pupils for assessments and GCSE examinations in line with exam board criteria
  • Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills with a focus on fluency and accuracy
  • Use creative teaching strategies to enhance engagement and cultural immersion
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress regularly, providing feedback to support development
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment clubs, language-themed events, or international trips
Candidate Requirements:✔ UK QTS or equivalent, with a recognised teaching qualification
✔ Experience teaching French and/or Spanish in secondary education
✔ Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the current MFL curriculum
✔ A commitment to inclusive teaching and raising pupil achievement across all abilities
✔ Effective classroom management and communication skills
