As a Conveyancing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the conveyancing department. Working closely with the fee earner, you will handle a range of administrative duties, client communications, and legal processes. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure smooth and efficient transactions, contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence.Responsibilities
- Manage email traffic and daily phone calls with clients, estate agents, and third parties
- Conduct ID and compliance checks to ensure adherence to legal requirements
- Draft standard documentation and correspondence related to conveyancing transactions
- Perform Land Registry searches to gather necessary information
- Create and send mortgage reports and contract reports to relevant parties
- Request searches and management packs to facilitate the conveyancing process
- Monitor external portals for updates and actions, ensuring timely responses
- Assist in exchanging contracts and setting up completions of transactions
- Handle post-completion work to ensure all necessary steps are taken
- At least 12 months of recent conveyancing experience
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in relevant software
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional administrative and organisational abilities
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload effectively
