Master Data ManagerWe have an exciting opportunity in Group Finance to join us as Master Data Manager at our site in Howden, East Yorkshire. You will manage a team of seven with responsibility for the governance and management of master data with a particular focus on the end-to-end product data value chain.What will I be doing as a Master Data Manager?
  • Leading a team of 7, focussed on improving the performance, productivity, and efficiency of the team by instilling and driving a continuous improvement mindset and enabling the best possible data and information experience for customers and end users.
  • Owning the end-to-end process for managing product master data in SAP (SAP-C and SAP-M ) and K8 including checking, loading, rationalising, and implementing corrections, updates, improvements, and expansions to the master data (spanning Product, Purchasing, Vendors and Manufacturing key data).
  • Building actionable reporting that monitors and pinpoints data requirements and challenges.
  • Understanding and supporting the SAP/S4 transformation program in relation to Master Data processes.
  • Audit current datasets, as well as cleansing and reviewing current taxonomies and data structure, and design a robust, future-looking data and entity mapping structure.
  • Collaborating and building cross functional relationships, helping the business recognise where data fits into the overall business and how it can be leveraged to support strategic goals.
  • Maintaining data governance and alignment, within the Group, particularly with expansion in France and Republic of Ireland ensuring integrity of master data on all core group systems that serve as the source for all reporting (single source of truth).
What we need from you:
  • Experience leading and motivating a team
  • Significant and detailed knowledge of SAP, and ideally K8 & WMS
  • SAP MM qualification
  • Experience working with or within a large organisation with master data systems in a similar role.
  • Management experience in ensuring data integrity through exception reporting
  • Attention to detail, to think laterally to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, approachable and flexible.
  • Excellent engagement and influencing skills, working cross functionally.
  • Culturally sensitive to the Howdens business model
  • Proactively build and develop long term relationships
  • Able to work to tight time deadlines and manage conflicting and changing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively drive people, process and technology change in a complex operating environment.
  • Ensuring we have accurate and robust data to comply with Intrastat (Commodity Codes), Waste Packaging, WEEE and FSC/PEFC/EUDR reporting.
