- Care to be taken regarding personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
- To start shift promptly at time designated, in full uniform.
- To ensure active communication at changeover, briefing to ensure awareness of any matters pertaining to the smooth effective running of the shift.
- To work as part of the Mitie team upholding their values and standards.
- To liaise with retailers over any security matters or concerns.
- To assist on site police in prevention and detection of crime.
- To prevent unauthorised personnel from entering Bluewater.
- To conduct regular patrols to include the following:
- To prevent and detect fire, water leaks, and any potential safety hazards. To ensure that all fire exits and portable fire fighting equipment cupboards are not impeded by any obstructions.
- To check for unauthorised personnel in business sensitive areas.
- To check and verify the identity and work permits of any contractors working in the building.
- To conduct mandatory searches of bags and personal belongings to sub-contractors and cleaners before they leave the premises, on the Client's instruction.
- To conduct searches of visitors to the site at the discretion of and as instructed by the client in accordance with site policies.
- To provide escort duties.
- To ensure the removal of unattended valuables for safekeeping.
- To monitor the movements of cleaners and sub-contractors.
- To supervise the cleaning of business sensitive areas and selected private offices.
- To report any incident or occurrence out of the ordinary to Security Control Centre and enter into the Daily Occurrence Book (DOB).
- Conduct any other duties deemed to be appropriate or necessary to the post.
- Skills & Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to operate in a pressurised environment.
- Excellent time management.
- Attention to detail and proactive Demonstrable Proactive and professional approach to security.
- Ability to work under own initiative and also as a member of a team
- Experience in working within a team as well as on your own - essential
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and policy
- Flexible approach to working hours, including working weekends & Bank Holidays
- SIA licensed in all relevant areas.
- Willingness to take any further appropriate training.
- Must have a SIA Door Supervisor Licence
- First-aid at work qualification
