Planning Manager
The NRL Group are currently looking for an experienced Planning Manager to deliver a significant work package on a major power generation construction project in the South West.What will the role consist of?
  • Advising project and site management on matters relating to planning, scheduling, progress-monitoring and reporting.
  • Ensuring adherence to project scheduling and governance standards.
  • Oversight and interrogation of relevant project schedules pulling together necessary variables from subcontractors, engineering and project partners to ensure full integration across project.
  • Creation of necessary project management tools including Gantt charts and histograms.
  • Management and direction of planning engineering subordinates on technical planning and scheduling matters.
  • Assisting with the production of budget loaded work programmes/schedules.
  • Chairing progress meetings with project resources to understand progress and performance.
  • Establishing progress reporting approaches with subcontract partners.
  • Assisting site management with the production of monthly reports, providing necessary planning and progress data.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines and functions to support deliver of project to time and budget.
  • Supporting change control and management processes, providing site management with necessary project analysis, generating performance indicators and highlighting areas of risk.
  • Preparing progress reports regarding Earned Value Methodology.
  • Generating necessary project KPI reports and project S-curves.

  • Project planning experience on a major construction engineering project (ideally M&E phase).
  • Experience leading a team of planning professionals.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience planning and project controls.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • IT skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and strong Primavera P6 user.
  • Knowledge and experience of NEC contracts and/ or FIDIC Contracts.
