
Principal/ Associate and Chief Geotechnical Engineer - Seismic Engineering

- A good academic background with a engineering degree and ideally an MSc or PhD in a subject and holding Chartered status.
- Good experience in geotechnical analysis and design experience in seismic geotechnical analysis and design including seismic design for shallow and deep foundations, soil-structure interaction, seismic deformational analyses, seismic response of dams and embankments, liquefaction assessment and ground improvement.
- Experience in leading numerical modelling teams with advanced numerical modelling software (e.g., FLAC / FLAC3D, PLAXIS 2D / 3D etc) and analyzing results.
- Detailed understanding of advanced constitutive soil models, parameter selection for such models, soil-structure interaction and experience of numerical modelling software (FLAC / FLAC3D, PLAXIS 2D / 3D etc) in addition to standard geotechnical software.
- Experience in validation of geotechnical numerical analysis and numerical model calibration.
- Experience in managing the process of geotechnical numerical analysis within an interdisciplinary project environment.
- Capability to drive digital innovation and further AtkinsRéalis’ capability in advanced geotechnical analysis and design.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients and engineers from other disciplines.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to manage the delivery of exemplary written documents and review the work of colleagues.
- A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas and valid UK driving licence.
