- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- HCPC registered
- Membership of the College of Occupational Therapy
- Membership of appropriate clinical interest groups, e.g BACPAR
- Comprehensive experience in an acute hospital setting, including a range of post qualification rotations at Band 5 and Band 6 level
- Experience of working within a range of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams, including evidence of collaboration with other organizations
- Experience of working in a team of people including qualified and non qualified staff
- Experience managing the risks associated with lone working
- Experience of working with Occupational Therapy students, either as a clinical educator or supporting a clinical educator
- Experience working in an NHS setting in the following clinical areas: Surgery, Respiratory, Medical, Trauma and Orthopaedics, and neurology
- Up to date clinical skills and specialist level assessment skills
- well developed communication skills- empathy, compassion , negotiation and motivation
- Good understanding of roles within the MDT and respect for other professionals within the team
- Analytical thinker, reflective practitioner with portfolio evidence to support this.
- Experience of teaching
- Computer literate
- Evidence of clinical audit/research activity
- Evidence of post graduate education and development
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to work in highly stressful situations including the ability to manage distressing and highly emotive situations successfully
- Able to concentrate for long periods, including during patient treatments (for 20+ minutes). Able to work with frequent interruptions.
- Actively participate in, and record, CPD activities and in-service training.
- Keen to share knowledge and training across all health care professionals
- Shows a commitment to working at RCHT
