Sector: Industrial & CommercialWe are working with a leading consultancy based in Manchester, looking for a Senior Building Surveyor or Associate Director to join their growing team. The consultancy works with major developers and asset managers, specialising in the industrial and commercial sectors across the UK. With a diverse portfolio exceeding 15 million sq. ft and over 800 tenants, they deliver a broad range of services, partnering with institutions, financial partners, and occupiers to achieve exceptional outcomes.The Role:
This is a senior role offering a balance between client-side responsibilities and consultancy work. As a Senior Building Surveyor or Associate Director, you will lead a small team of two chartered surveyors, spending around 80% of your time on client-side duties, and 20% on consultancy assignments. The role covers a variety of projects across the UK, including dilapidations, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and project work.Current projects include:
- Project monitoring a 300,000 sq. ft new-build industrial unit in East Anglia for a FTSE 250 company.
- Managing multiple dilapidations claims for asset managers and investors in Manchester and Bedfordshire.
- Lead a small team, managing and delivering on client-side building surveying assignments.
- Oversee a range of projects, from dilapidations and PPM to major new builds and refurbishments.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently.
- Take responsibility for managing relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, asset managers, and occupiers.
- Handle complex negotiations and deliver high-quality surveying services across various sectors.
- Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) with significant commercial and industrial experience.
- Strong background in both client-side and consultancy building surveying.
- Experience managing and mentoring a team would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to deliver high-level advice to clients and navigate challenging negotiations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive approach to managing projects and client relationships.
- Competitive base salary up to £80,000 (dependent on experience).
