
Senior Residential Support Worker – Young People

- Ensuring a firm, caring, consistent, well-ordered environment is maintained at all times.
- Working in line with children’s risk assessment and behaviour support plans
- To actively promote and participate in care planning, developing risk assessments, behaviour management and to attend regular team meetings.
- Taking children and young people on a range of activities and demonstrating positive role modelling.
- Working as part of a team to provide a programme of evening and weekend activities for children and young people.
- Promoting the social and emotional well-being and development of children and young people and to consistently strive to further develop these skills.
- Undertaking any administrative tasks linked to the care of children and young people e.g. keeping appropriate records, making reports as required by the home and any regulatory bodies.
- To maintain a log of all accidents, incidents, or physical intervention and to challenge suspected inappropriate practice according to policies and procedures.
- Keeping up to date with the home’s policies and good safeguarding practise.
- Previous experience as a senior shift leader or a similar role is essential.
- Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with residents, their families and staff on shift.
- Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and teamwork among staff members.
- A valid full UK driving licence is essential for transporting residents as required.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others in need.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
- Residential care: 1 year (preferred)
- Supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 in child workforce or health and social care or equivalent(preferred)
- Early: 7:30am- 3pm
- Late: 2pm-11pm
- Long day: 7:30am-11pm
