- Build hands-on experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, such as ADHD, Autism, and communication challenges.
- Work alongside experienced educators, therapists, and SEN professionals in a collaborative school environment.
- Gain valuable insights into the links between behaviour, learning, and mental health-directly related to your degree.
- Play a meaningful role in improving outcomes for young people facing significant challenges in and outside the classroom in Stevenage.
- A recent graduate in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people, especially those with additional mental health or behavioural needs as a School Support Worker.
- Some experience (paid or voluntary) in youth work, support work, or education is beneficial-but not essential.
- A team player who is empathetic, patient, and committed to helping students thrive.
- Based in or able to commute to Stevenage reliably.
- Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis to help them engage with learning in the education and training sector.
- Assisting in the delivery of tailored learning and behavioural support plans.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to create a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment.
- Providing emotional and pastoral support to help students develop self-confidence and resilience.
