Technical Meter OperativeLocation: The role is home based, and you will be expected to travel extensively throughout the UKThe Siemens Industrial and Commercial (I&C) Field Technical Meter Operative role provides day-to-day technical operational support for a field team of I&C Meter Operatives. Working alongside the Field Team Manager, the Technical Meter Operative will be instrumental in supporting the coaching and development of the I&C Meter Operatives to optimise the performance of the team to ensure safe delivery of all business objectives as well provide any contract specific technical supportAreas of responsibility
  • Lead complex meter installations and changes, including customer wiring modifications
  • Conduct meter accuracy testing (COP4) and check meter installations
  • Perform site surveys and develop detailed work proposals
  • Implement quality audits on Meter Operatives as part of annual assessments
  • Carry out HSE and Technical audits
  • Act as primary point of contact for field issue resolution
  • Liaise with contractors, customers, and agents for installation support
  • Coordinate emergency response and unplanned work
  • Participate in project meetings and working groups
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to team members
  • Investigate and resolve audit nonconformities
  • Identify and implement field delivery improvements
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Maintain current knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Drive team development through coaching and upskilling
Essential:· Full clean driving license which must be valid in the UK.
  • Demonstrable experience on LV/HVCT metering
  • Experienced in problem solving and using technical knowledge to resolve complex site faults
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly in explaining complex technical issues and providing remote support to colleagues and trainees
  • Experience in reading and interpreting numerical data quickly and accurately
  • Understanding of the industry codes of practices, policies and procedures, including safety requirements, which are relevant to I&C Meter Operations and the ability to effectively communicate these to the staff
  • Ability to coach others
Desirable:
  • Understanding of use of Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel, Outlook E-mail
  • Good organizational, communication and negotiation skills
