Job Title: Play AssistantLocation: Ossett, WF5Job Type: Full-time/Part-time/Flexible workingSalary: 89.38-95 per dayJob Summary:We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and creative Play Assistant to support children in a safe, fun, and engaging play environment in an EYFS setting. The Play Assistant will help facilitate activities, supervise children, and promote positive interactions while ensuring a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and engage children in play activities.
  • Support structured and unstructured play, encouraging creativity and social skills.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
  • Assist in setting up and tidying play areas and equipment.
  • Support children with additional needs, ensuring an inclusive environment.
  • Promote positive behavior and help resolve minor conflicts in a friendly and supportive manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a high standard of care.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and colleagues.
  • Follow all safeguarding, health, and safety procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children in a play, childcare, or educational setting (preferred).
  • A friendly, patient, and approachable personality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic first aid training (or willingness to complete training).
  • Knowledge of child development and play-based learning (desirable).
  • A relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not required).
  • Ability to adapt to different situations and engage children of various ages.
Must have:
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Child Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
  • At least 2 references covering the last 24 months
