Assistant Accountant – Newcastle upon Tyne – Up to £30,000 + Excellent BenefitsA fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a well-established transport and logistics firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Offering a salary of up to £30,000, this office-based role is ideal for a finance professional looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll join a growing business with a strong operational footprint across the UK, supporting the Company Accountant in a busy and varied finance function.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and reconciliationsProvide accurate financial data and reports to support senior leadership decision-makingReconcile bank transactions and maintain accurate cash flow and spreadsheet recordsReview and resolve aged AP/AR balances, debit notes, GRNI, and purchase ordersOffer cross-functional support during periods of leave, including supplier invoice processing and credit controlWhat Experience is RequiredAAT Level 4 qualified or equivalentA minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance role, ideally within an SMEExperience with Sage 50 and strong Excel skillsSalary & BenefitsSalary: Up to £30,000Benefits: Company pension, on-site parking, and a supportive team environmentOffice-based role, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pmLocationThe office is based in Newcastle upon Tyne (NE27) and is easily commutable from:
Gateshead, Cramlington, Whitley Bay, North Shields, South Shields, Sunderland, Wallsend, and Blyth.
