What are the top 5 skill/experience you are looking for out of this role?Someone who has been a manager (head of projects or programmes) - ideally done some transformation and built a function before or improved or brought in new ways of workingSomeone who has an understanding of different project methodologies but pragmatic about itStakeholder management - can manage complex stakeholders and get right respect.What programme experience do they need to of worked on? Must have done both technology and business programmes.What would the first 3 months look like? A little bit chaotic. They are in transition with no CIO and Janice is stepping into that role whilst building own function. The remit and role is super clear it will make it easier. They will stabilise the projects team and keep them engaged. Come in with confidence and build relationships and understand problems and pain points to build the team up. Be able to collaborate on solutions. Do fact finding around the business and come back with solutions. No micro management.Do they need to have similar sector experience? No - we will make it work.Monday is go live day for this roleSomeone to come in and manage 5 permanent people direct reports and 1 contractor until end of OctoberThey will need to manage the people.Janice needs someone who can coach and mentor the PMs in terms of their capability of their experience (mix bag atm) and there is a lack of consistency of methodologys and frameworks they apply. All Pms bar 1 PMOPMO has started developing framework but need accerlerationCurrent head of projects is massively distracted by ERP Programme so hard for him to get level of improvementBetter process to manage the pipeline and manage resourcing across the projectsThe way the projects are delivered in terms of governance framework (some good and others not so much)1 of the weaknesses is commercial acumen - dealing with vendors and challenge and help team to understand we don't go out with the first vendor they speak to.Someone who is completely independent who can pick it up and run with it.FTCSomeone who can listen and find solutions30 projects delivering in the team - a lot of them are infrastructure projects (vulnerability management and making sure ready for cyber essentials + and doing remediation work)Putting in new WANUpgrading WAN and switchesGlobal telephony programmeRevamping back upsBut some business projects in the mix like driving digital mandates, finance and hr tech transformations
