As an Application Engineer, you’ll work closely with suppliers and internal teams both technical and commercial. You will ensure clients’ projects/orders are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.You’ll be part of a cross functional team where your input influences everything from quotes and tender documents through to project delivery. Therefore giving you visibility across the full lifecycle of client projects.What you’ll do in this Application Engineer jobAs an Application Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting client projects/order. From initial sales order through the supplier and design process into shipping and delivery. This hands-on role combines technical expertise with project coordination. Requiring you to liaise with suppliers, design teams, accounting and internal manufacturing/assembly teams to ensure solutions meet requirements.Key responsibilities include:
  • Producing detailed documentation for orders before submission.
  • Ensuring all aspects of orders and invoices are correct including Purchase Order Management using Sage.
  • Working closely with Sales, Design, and Manufacturing teams to ensure projects/orders are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Preparing quotes and tender documents in conjunction with the sales team.
  • Liaising extensively with suppliers to ensure the right parts/products are orders.
  • Responding to technical queries and ensuring the correct parts/products are ordered.
  • Offering advice and support technically on the companies products and services.
  • Ensuring the ERP systems is up to date with all information from tender to delivery.+
  • Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Manage delivery and post sales activities, monitoring import and export considerations when required.
  • Role could grow to additional involvement support the design team in CAD system management and some aspects of design.
What you’ll bring to this Application Engineer jobThis role suits someone with a good technical/engineering understanding, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You should be comfortable managing multiple tasks, coordinating across teams, and engaging directly externally with suppliers and clients.You should have:
  • Possibly a degree or HND/HNC in Engineering, Mechanical, Process, or similar discipline. However this is not essential if you can demonstrate good Engineering knowledge built by experience.
  • Experience in technical or engineering roles within the delivery of products/parts or systems going into the industrial or process industry based environments would be an advantage. Again, attitude, willingness to learn, enthusiasm and a good engineering foundation are just as important.
  • Engineering documentation experienced (i.e. able to manage the
) and have knowledge of the invoicing, quotation, tendering and shipping process. * A proactive, team-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous client or supplier facing experience in an engineering context.
  • Able to read and understand technical/engineering drawings and ideally knowledge of a leading CAD system such as
