
Locum Nurse Practitioner

- Carrying out in depth and extensive clinical examinations
- Performing diagnosis based on review of past medical history, face to face (where appropriate) assessments and clinical examinations conducted
- Requesting and taking specimens (blood, urine etc)
- Creating short or long-term treatment plans and prescribing medication based on test findings
- Managing and providing post-surgical care to patients
- Offering special instructions to patients such as nutritional advice, information about weight management, etc.
- Performing routine medical procedures
- Performing periodic evaluations of their patients and referring them to specialists as necessary
- Bachelors degree in nursing and an approved apprenticeship.
- A masters degree in advanced clinical practice or nursing practice
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of the United Kingdom and the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
- A non-prescribing medical qualification such as the Level 6 and Level 7 Non-medical Prescribing for Health Care Professionals
- Excellent knowledge of the pillars of nursing
- Knowledge of counselling and psychology
- Strong customer service skills
- Empathy and sensitivity skills
- Ability to remain calm in highly stressful situations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and thoroughness
- Previous experience managing your own caseloads and making autonomous decisions about patient care
- Experience managing undifferentiated diagnoses and complex clinical presentations
- Specialism in Respiratory
