- AAT Level 3 or equivalent financial qualification.
- Significant experience in financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience with accounting systems and reporting (QuickBooks, Xero, DEXT).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative communicator who respects Steiner-Waldorf pedagogy and school culture.
- Prepare and manage the school’s budget and financial strategy in collaboration with the Business Manager and Trustees.
- Align budgeting decisions with educational priorities and long-term school strategy.
- Provide clear, timely financial advice to support decision-making at SLT and Board level.
- Produce monthly and termly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports for the Business Manager, Headteacher, and Trustees.
- Provide commentary and analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Oversee payroll, pensions, and statutory deductions in liaison with payroll providers.
- Manage invoicing, fee structures, bursary assessments, and debt recovery sensitively and in line with school values.
- Ensure compliance with tax, charity, and company law.
- Liaise with auditors and accountants to ensure statutory reporting and compliance.
- Maintain financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, DEXT) and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Support the Business Manager in maintaining robust internal controls and risk management.
- Continuously improve financial procedures, ensuring they are education-friendly and minimise disruption.
- Work closely with the Business Manager, Headteacher, and SLT to ensure financial decisions reflect the ethos of Steiner-Waldorf education.
- Communicate financial information in a clear and accessible way for teaching staff, Trustees, and parents.
- Model respect for teachers and the pedagogical priorities of the school.
- AAT Level 3 or equivalent financial qualification.
- Significant experience in financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
