UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE+ MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFEWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our primary care team at HMP Winchester, a category B Prison located in central Winchester.HMP Winchester is a Category B Local remand prison located in Central Winchester accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.Although the site is close to Winchester city centre there is onsite parking for all staff and it is a short walk from Winchester train station.Hours37.5 hours a week working a mix of 50/50 days and nights.2 weeks of day shifts & 2 weeks of nights. i.e. working a mix of shifts days and nights over a 4 week rolling rota.7 nights in 4 week period.Nights: 20:30 08:00 Days: 07:30 20:00 SalaryThis position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £52,507 per annum - depending on experience. How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsSupport from the wider teamCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.Main duties of the jobAs a Senior Primary Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.
