Safety and Reliability EngineerOur client has an exciting opportunity for a Safety and Reliability Engineer to join their missile systems team, working with world-class clients on complex, safety-critical programs. This role is about balancing time and cost constraints to ensure that a convincing safety case and/or reliability case, comprising of appropriate evidence, is constructed.Successful candidates will be degree educated in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related disciplines and will have worked as a Maritime Safety Engineer, with some post-graduate experience.About the RoleBy understanding the system and its operating context, the safety and reliability engineer will decide what type of evidence will most cost-effectively show that the identified hazards or reliability risks have been mitigated to the customer's satisfaction, using a range of techniques and approaches including:
Thorough understanding and experience of how the hazard analysis and safety evaluation processes integrate with the system engineering process
Ability to deliver supporting information (Safety Case Reports, Hazard Analysis, Functional Failure Analysis, FTA, FMECA, reliability prediction, etc).
Fully appreciates that reliability is not just a number, and has experience in reliability planning, analysis and testing during development.
Demonstrable knowledge of, and experience in, the application of the UK and International system engineering processes.
Good knowledge of complex electronic systems and the associated safety and reliability issues (but other engineering subject areas, such as design, software, manufacture, etc, will be considered for candidates with the right strengths in other areas).
