We’re recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive independent specialist school in Trowbridge for a part-time tutor to join their post-16 provision.This unique role offers an incredible opportunity to support young people with diverse and complex needs, helping them re-engage with learning, develop life skills and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and dynamic setting.The Role:As a part-time teacher in this forward-thinking post-16 team, you’ll plan and deliver tailored sessions to small groups of students. Your lessons will focus on academic development, personal growth and social-emotional learning, designed around each student’s individual journey.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver creative, structured lessons that support long-term understanding
  • Set personalised learning targets based on each learner’s starting point
  • Adapt planning to meet a wide range of special educational needs (SEN)
  • Help students build self-esteem, resilience and effective behaviour strategies
  • Contribute to a collaborative, pastoral-first school culture
This setting embraces flexibility, curiosity and holistic education - blending academics with vocational and outdoor learning experiences.Who We’re Looking For:We’re searching for a qualified teacher or experienced tutor who thrives on making a difference. Ideally, you will:
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE)
  • Have experience teaching secondary-aged learners, preferably in an SEN or alternative provision
  • Bring creativity, patience and flexibility to your teaching approach
  • Understand and apply positive behaviour support techniques
  • Be passionate about supporting young people with SEMH or SEND needs
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (insured for business use)
